Burnout is a state of vital exhaustion and psychological stress. Suicidal ideation and burnout have a documented correlation. Even in mild cases we can expect our engagement at work to be diminished.
Our goal is to achieve the opposite of burnout: engagement. There are a few things we can do to mitigate the onset, but while individuals can cope with symptoms only organizational change and individual education can truly prevent burnout.
